Generative AI or GTP (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models will have notable economic, social, and policy implications.
They will impact 80% of the U.S. workforce, with at least 10% of their work task affected. Around 19% of workers will see at least 50% of their task impacted.
This is the main conclusion of a research paper posted online authored by four researchers at Cornell University — Tyna Eloundou, Sam Manning, Pamela Mishkin, and Daniel Rock.
According to the research, the influence spans all wage levels, with higher-income jobs potentially facing greater exposure.
Language Models (LLMs) — via ChatGPT or the OpenAI Playground — can process and produce various forms of sequential data, including assembly language, protein sequences, and chess games, extending beyond natural language applications alone.
